You got a link from Candora. Here is what that means.
Candora is not an employer. It is a tool a company pays for, to check the details on applications. The link came from that company, not from us. This page needs no login and you can read all of it before you send anything.
Who we are
Candora is software. It checks whether the details on a resume match public registers. We do not hire, we recommend nobody, and we run no interviews. All of that is done by the company you applied to.
- We are not a recruitment agency and we place nobody into a job.
- We never call your former employer or your school.
- Your name never leaves Candora. Registers are asked about companies and internet domains, not about people.
Why a brand you do not know is writing to you
The company you applied to uses Candora to check applications. When it needs a document from you, it sends you a link into Candora. That email always carries the name of the company. If the name is not there, something is wrong and you should send nothing.
What happens to your documents
The document you upload is seen by that company. By nobody else. Candora passes it to no one and sells it nowhere. The data sits on servers inside the European Union. A resume is never stored as a file: the text is read and the file is discarded.
- You supply the document yourself. We never obtain it behind your back.
- If you do not supply it, that is not a finding and it never appears in the report as something against you.
- You can ask what Candora holds about you, and you can ask for a correction or for deletion.
Who decides about you
A person at the company you applied to decides. Candora never rejects you on its own and gives you no score, no percentage and no colour. That is deliberate: under Article 22 GDPR you have, with limited exceptions, the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing. Every finding says where it came from and when it was queried, so that it can be answered.
- A gap in a resume is recorded without interpretation. It has a thousand causes and not one of them is ours to name.
- When something cannot be checked, it is written down as unverified. Unverified is not a finding.
- If you think a finding is wrong, you can say so, and how to do it is written down.
How to check this is not a scam
You have every right to be careful. Here is what a link from us has to satisfy. If any of it does not match, send nothing and write to the company.
- The address in your browser ends with getcandora.com. Check that before you upload anything.
- The email carries the name of the company you applied to.
- We never ask you for a password, a bank account number, a payment card or a payment.
- We never ask for a document the company is not allowed to request. What it may request is set out in the links below.
- We never push you into a deadline such as answer within the hour.
If you are unsure, write to the company directly, at an address you found on its own website, and ask whether it sent you Candora. That is the right thing to do and nobody will hold it against you.
