What Candora reads about you, and what it never touches.
An employer you applied to uses Candora to check claims on applications. This page says exactly what that means for you, without a euphemism.
What gets read
Only what you put in the application yourself, plus public registers and records about companies. The full list of sources we query is public at app.getcandora.com/sources and changes with the version of that list. Those sources are asked about the employers on your CV, not about you.
Your name never leaves Candora. External sources are asked about companies and domains, never about you.
What comes out of it
A report in three blocks: what contradicts a source, what checked out, and what could not be checked at all. There is no score and no verdict. Could not verify is a description, not a mark against you, and the third block is often the largest one. A person at the employer decides what to do, and their decision is logged.
What never happens
These are not promises about intent. There is no code that could do them.
- Nobody calls your previous employer or your school. Candora contacts no one.
- No social media is read. No profiles, no posts, no photos.
- No analysis of your face, your voice or your behaviour.
- The CV file is never written to disk, and the text is discarded once the claims are built.
- Health, religion, political views and similar data are not extracted, even if your CV contains them.
Documents come from you
If an employer asks for a document, a criminal record extract for instance, you obtain it yourself: through the state citizen portal, free, in about two minutes. Candora checks the signature on the extract and that the file has not changed since it was signed. It does not read the content. Not supplying a document is not a finding and the report does not grade it.
Your rights
You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected and ask for it to be deleted. The default retention is 30 days. Write to klara@getcandora.com and a person answers.
Something useful before your next application
Before you send your next application, run your CV through the same document checks, free, no account.
